Hand-painted Folklore Trunk ca. 1815
Storybook flair that’s well-built enough to last (it has for a couple hundred years already). This hand-painted treasure from 1815 has been painted a striking white with coordinating crimson detailing on the interior. Does have some wear including dry cracks, color loss and a sluggish lock (key is included), but at 200+ years old, we'd say it's in stellar shape and is truly a magnificent piece.
Swedish "kista" trunks were once given as a gift to a marrying couple and would be filled with all the necessities for married life, such as special linens, family keepsakes, and so on. Often you'll find them hand-painted with both the date and the initials of the betrothed couple.
